Yasmin's Story

Forced into marriage at just 15, Yasmin* endured years of abuse and control before finding the courage to escape to Australia. Alone, traumatised and without support, she faced unimaginable struggles — until she reached the ASRC.

Thanks to the kindness of people like you, Yasmin was met with compassion, practical help and a safe place to heal. She received vital food, housing, healthcare, mental health support — and most importantly, hope.

Today, Yasmin is standing proudly on her own two feet. She is working, supporting herself and looking ahead with hope for the future.

Every day at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) people who have fled persecution from every corner of the earth arrive at our doorstep in search of sanctuary and safety.

Your gift today can help provide urgent essentials like groceries, community meals, emergency relief payments, health care, mental health support and safe housing — so people seeking asylum can begin to heal and rebuild.

Please give today to offer safety and hope to courageous people like Yasmin.

"I still cry when I remember the day I called the ASRC for the first time.

From that day forward, things began to change."
