In a world of injustice, choose to support resilience

People seeking asylum want to work, study and rebuild their lives in safety. Young refugees, some of whom have been in Australia for almost a decade, just want a chance to realise their potential and call Australia home for good. But our government policies continue to deprive many people of their human rights.

This winter your donation can be the hand up that young people like Aaliyah* and her family urgently need. Help provide food, health care, medication, housing support, legal aid and access to other essential services so they can rebuild their lives in safety.

People like Aaliyah* and her family are experiencing the devastating effect of our government's cruel and inhumane policies.

They have been living in limbo for 10 years now, subject to endless reapplications, delays and living in fear of being returned to the place they were escaping. Now, the sudden death of her father has seen her mother's already difficult mental health deteriorate and Aaliyah taking on responsibility of caring for her younger siblings.

She is bravely bearing the burden of her family's ongoing wellbeing, that no young person should have to bear.

Unfortunately, Aaliyah’s family is not the only one.
Will you choose to support the resilience of refugees like Aaliyah* this winter?

Watch Aaliyah*’s Story

"We came to this country to find freedom and a better life… but it has been so hard. There is so much uncertainty being on a bridging visa for so long and it has put so much strain on my parents."

Our community of compassionate supporters has the power to give refugees a hand up this winter, at least until the government assumes its responsibility and provides people with their basic rights to work, study, and access healthcare.

Your donation can enable wrap-around care for young refugees like Aaliyah* and her family, by providing essential food, material aid, medical assistance, legal aid, mental health support and vocational pathways advice. Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.

Funds raised by the ASRC are used to support, empower and advocate for over 7,000 people seeking asylum and refugees each year.

If you would like to make your donation by phone before June 30th or if you have any further questions, please call us on 1300 692 772 Monday-Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm. For other donation enquiries please email us on fundraising@asrc.org.au
