Your gift can provide food, healthcare, housing and material aid for people like Hawi* and her family.

Many families seeking asylum won’t have work rights or access to social security payments from the government this festive season. Affording food or healthcare will be challenging, as it has been to secure a roof over their heads with limited resources and in the middle of a housing crisis.

Refugee families like Hawi’s* are doing their best to rebuild their lives, but with no rental history or access to their basic human rights, they are at an even further disadvantage.

Your gift has the power to shine a light of hope for refugee families like Hawi’s* this festive season.

"I just wanted to live safely and have a safe birth so we could create a new home for my family in a new country. We moved in with nothing (...) and shortly after, my baby knew it was safe to come into the world...

Hearing her little heart for the first time was a sign of hope.”

What’s the impact of your donation this festive season?

This festive season, your donation can enable the ASRC’s programs and services to provide refugees and people seeking asylum with access to their most urgent basic needs: Food, healthcare, housing support including crisis accommodation and emergency relief payments to cover other essentials like utility bills. People assisted by the ASRC often don’t have the right to work or study, are ineligible for Medicare or receive any income support from the government. Together, we can help them face the season with fewer worries and more hope.

To continue working with the refugee community and hold the government accountable, the ASRC must remain independent. We don't accept funding from the Federal Government. Instead, we are funded by compassionate and generous people like you.
